02What this policy covers

This policy applies to personal information we handle in two distinct situations, and our role differs in each.

As a data controller

When you visit velitron.net, contact us, apply for a role, or deal with us as a client or supplier, we decide how and why your information is used. This policy governs that activity.

As a data processor

When we run advertising campaigns on behalf of client brands, we process personal information according to their instructions and under a separate agreement with them. In those cases the client is the controller, and their own privacy policy governs how that information is used. If you have questions about advertising you have seen from one of our clients, contact that brand directly, or contact us and we will direct you.

Our website is hosted and our contact form is processed by a third-party hosting provider. Enquiries submitted through the form are stored by that provider and forwarded to our team by email.

06Cross-border transfers

We operate across multiple African markets, and some of our service providers store or process information outside your country of residence.

Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected, including working with providers that are subject to comparable data protection laws or that offer contractual safeguards, in line with the requirements of the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act.

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires.

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, understand how it is used, and improve it.

No system is completely secure, but we take this seriously and review our measures regularly.

Our website and services are directed at businesses, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through this website. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to tell you.
